There is definitely one "meal" that belongs to every summer. It´s simple. It´s easy to make. It tastes unbelievably good every single time: Lettu, Crepes, Pancakes, Palatschinken...

Here my recipe for you, dear readers:
*1 l fresh milk
*4 eggs
*1/2 tsp salt
*2 cups flour

Mix all ingredients well together, put a little bit butter on a hot pan, add some dough and start frying...Serve with fresh berries!!

Garden Party

It has taken us a year to fix up this house we currently live in. Coming Friday we´ll finally have a Housewarming/ Garden Party. This morning I have been searching for ideas and I found a lovely blog Aren´t these settings perfect?!

The woods in Finland are filled with berries. Blueberries, Lingonberries and Rasberries. The amazing thing about those delicious berries is that everyone can just go and pick them for free. And I am lucky to have a husband who loves picking them for us :) Our freezer is filled for a while...

I have a friend. I have known her for most of my life, since I am 6 years old. Her childhood home is 14 km from my Grandparents. Every summer when I am at my Grandparents and she is in her childhood house, we meet up. I love to take my Mummo´s (Granny´s) old bike and cycle over to her place. To breathe the fresh air, cycle through the woods and let the thoughts pass my mind. There is actually a road that doesn´t change, a friend that I can always go to and a place to get inspired of. But the best thing is a friend with whom it´s easy to talk about the difficult things in life, a friend who listens, a friend who understands and a friend who loves you even she knows exactly how you are. We spent a few hours together each time and let our past year run by like a movie. We share our lifes even though they couldn´t be more different. Each time I cycle back to Mummo´s my heart is filled with pure THANKFULNESS to have a person like you, Sini, in my life.

No rush

The nicest moments of the summer are those when you just sit somewhere with a friend and don´t need to rush anywhere. Talk about stuff going on in your life and enjoy the very moment.

I love to get something small, a souvenir from each country I travel to. Something that will remind me of a certain time of my life. From my last trip to England I got this amazing postcard from the National Portrait Gallery with Her Majesty The Queen and framed it. The Vintage Print with the ice-creams I bought from a market close to Brick Lane.

Finland and Berry Pies

Soon I´ll be there. At my Grandmother´s baking fresh berry pies from the berries we collect in the woods close by. Just the thought of it makes me smile.

London in July

A couple of weeks ago I was in England. Visiting a dear friend, being part of a sweet wedding and walking my way through London. I didn´t plan this trip very well because I was so tired. It turned out to be one of the best trips, I have been on so far. Below some snapshots.
